Eligible Professional Program (EP2)
As administrators of the Eligible Professional Program (EP2), NYeC has helped over 3,300 providers successfully attest to the New York State Medicaid EHR Incentive Program, which includes assisting providers in selecting, implementing, and upgrading EHR technologies. Originally part of the federal REC (Regional Extension Center) Program, NYeC has experience working with EHR vendors in both the ambulatory and behavioral health spaces to provide necessary guidance and advocacy for physicians and provider organizations across NYS.
Behavioral Health Information Technology Program (BHIT)
In May 2018, NYeC concluded work on the New York State Department of Health’s Behavioral Health Information Technology (BHIT) program. The BHIT program provided technical assistance and support to Adult Behavioral Health—Home and Community-Based Services (BH HCBS) providers to transition to and adopt health information technology.
In their final report, NYeC details the strategic approach taken, highlights key activities, achievements, and lessons learned through the successful completion of the program. Through the BHIT program, 114 organizations across the state, representing over 2,000 HCBS staff members, adopted upgraded an electronic medical record and billing system to capture their case documentation in real-time and bill for their services to Medicaid Managed Care.
