Study Reports on Efficacy of Consumer Groups for those with Psychiatric and Substance Abuse Disorders

NYeC has considerable experience using focus groups to assess consumer preferences. Tom Uttaro, NYeC Director of Adoption Programs and Services, was part of a team demonstrating the efficacy of consumer run groups to support recovery from co-occuring psychiatric and substance abuse disorders. The following research article is a product of this study. The research methodology was qualitative, and utilized focus groups of participants in the treatment program.
