2014 Policy Committee Call for Nominations – Due Jan 15

The NYeC Board of Directors Nominating Committee is seeking nominations for membership in the 2014 Policy Committee.

To ensure accountability and trust in the implementation of the Statewide Health Information Network of New York (SHIN-NY), NYeC and the New York State Department of Health have established a governance structure that enables stakeholder input and transparency. Key to achievement of SHIN-NY implementation is a policy making process that will establish trust in the integrity of the SHIN-NY services and maintain the privacy and security of the health information of every New Yorker. To that end, the 2014 Policy Committee will convene to further develop SHIN-NY data usage and technology policies to be included in the Statewide Policy Guidance Privacy and Security Policies and Procedures for Qualified Entities and their Participants.

The newly formed Policy Committee will be comprised of policy experts, government policy makers, payers, and informed healthcare professionals to name a few from across New York State. The Committee will meet monthly via conference call as well as hold 3-4 in-person meetings during the 2014 cycle. National subject matter experts will be invited to contribute to specific policy issues throughout the process.
